Goal

The trial period will be a completely new experience for your children. They will have a whole range of new subjects (including Latin); they will have a different teacher for each subject; they will have to work much more outside of school hours and study for exams than they are used to from primary school; the speed and manner of teaching and the requirements in the exams will also be very different from what they are used to. This is a huge challenge for the children and often for the whole family.

In order to reduce this stress and increase the chances of successfully passing the probationary period, it makes a lot of sense to prepare for it in the best possible way. This is exactly what our probationary period preparation courses are designed for.

Subjects

German is a core subject. The skills taught in German are also important for other subjects: tasks must be completed in the form of texts, or children must work through the material themselves by reading. Grammar teaching at secondary school also differs significantly from that at primary school.

Mathematics is also a core subject. Training in abstract and logical thinking is also important for success in other subjects. The way mathematics is taught at secondary school differs greatly from mathematics lessons in primary school.

Latin is a completely new subject and cannot be compared to anything previously learned. It requires skills that are very different from those taught in primary school.

French is not a new subject, some prior knowledge is assumed due to early French instruction in primary school. The lessons progress quickly. However, the level of proficiency among children varies greatly after early French instruction in primary school.

Course content / Interdisciplinary skills / Learning techniques

All subjects cover material that is likely to be covered in the probationary period. However, as each school sets its own curriculum, we cannot guarantee that our courses will cover exactly the same material that will be covered in the probationary period of your child.

In any case, however, the children acquire skills that are relevant to the respective subject, regardless of the specific scope of the material.

In addition, learning techniques are introduced and practiced in all courses that are useful for the respective subjects as well as for other subjects.
